COUNTER BALANCE DAMPERS & SHUTTERS

Counter balanced dampers and shutters are designed to allow airflow in one direction only and can function as either an intake or exhaust damper. Most counter balanced dampers and shutters depend on differential air pressure to operate and are usually provided with adjustable counter weights to help open or retard the opening of the blades. Usually these types of dampers have blades that are manufactured from lite weight aluminum or other materials to facilitate free movement.

The Model CBD series of counter balanced dampers is manufactured utilizing 16 gauge galvanized steel roll formed into a 4 ½” wide x ¾” deep channel for the frame. The blades are formed 14 gauge aluminum tripled crimped for extra strength and rigidity and are linked together using exposed on blade aluminum brackets with brass pivots. The standard bearings are ½” I.D. nylon. Adjustable weights are included with this damper. The minimum size available is 6” wide x 6” high and the maximum single section size available is 52” wide x 60” high.

The Model SPA series of shutters are manufactured utilizing .070 extruded aluminum 6063-T5 alloy frames with mitered corners. The blades are .050 extruded aluminum 6063-T5 alloy blades with polyurethane seals and the bearings are ¼” I.D. nylon. The minimum size available is 6” wide x 6” high and the maximum single section size is 36” wide x 48” high.

By adding a –V to any of the above listed damper models designates that the damper is to be mounted in the vertical position only such as a wall or horizontal duct and can be used as an intake or exhaust damper depending on the air flow direction.

Adding a -HU to any of the above listed damper models designates that the damper is to be mounted in the horizontal position only, such as a vertical duct where the airflow direction is up. Ideally used as an exhaust air damper.

Adding a -HD to any of the above listed damper models designates that the dampers is to be mounted in the horizontal position only, such as a vertical duct where the airflow direction is down. Ideally used as an intake air damper.

The Model SPF is a fabric blade shutter designed to be mounted in the vertical position only. The external frame is constructed utilizing 18 gauge-galvanized steel. The neoprene coated fiberglass blades are supported by a ½” square mesh 19 gauge bird screen mounted in an extruded aluminum frame. This shutter is designed for a low velocity system not to exceed 1000 feet per minute. The minimum size available is 6” wide x 6” high and the maximum single section size available is 36” wide x 48” high.
