Leader Industries Inc. is the corporate-management-support portion of our company. Leader Industries Inc. as such, does not manufacture, sell or ship anything but it provides the physical plant, equipment, materials, personnel and all other related items necessary for the manufacturing divisions to.

Creative Metals Inc. was founded in 1975 to supply roof curbs within the local area. As with most good ideas and lots of hard work, Creative Metals Inc. grew and successfully expanded into manufacturing other products to complement its roof curb business. In 1982 Creative Metals Inc. purchased the United McGill fire damper operation located in the state of Georgia and moved it to its current Nashville, Tn. location. Initially, the fire damper product line was marketed under the United Air Fire Damper name as a part of Creative Metals Inc. With a healthy investment in both automated equipment and UL testing, new products were added that really spurred growth. With growth comes expansion and changes.  In 1991 a marketing decision was made to reorganize the company and change our corporate name to Leader Industries Inc. The United Air Fire Damper / Louvers Division and the Creative Metals Division were designated as manufacturing divisions under the corporate leadership of Leader Industries Inc.

Under this reorganization, the fire dampers, combination fire/smoke dampers, ceiling radiation fire dampers and louver products were taken out of the Creative Metals catalog and placed into their own separate United Air Dampers and United Air Louvers catalogs. The United Air Division products would be marketed and sold through an exclusive agent arrangement while the remaining roof related products in the Creative Metals Division would continue to be sold on a non-exclusive basis to all qualified manufacturers agents.

The United Air Division was successful and continued to grow through the acquisition and support of several important exclusive representatives across the country. In February 2001 another important decision was made to change the United Air Division name to the present name of Leader Dampers & Louvers. This was to avoid the confusion with other companies using the” UNITED” logo in their name as well as to assert our determination to become a “LEADER” and be recognized as such in our chosen field of manufacturing.
